CLIENT SPOTLIGHT: St. Francis College Receives $1.5M in FY23

DHC's Client St. Francis College Receives $1.5M in FY23

June 30, 2023 – Jonathan McCollum and Jake Roach of the Federal Lobbying group recently secured $1.5 million dollars in FY23 Appropriations funding for our client St. Francis College (SFC). SFC is a four-year, not-for-profit, Hispanic Serving, private institute of higher education located in Downtown Brooklyn. For over 160 years, SFC has offered students from low-income, working-class and immigrant families the opportunity to earn a degree and enter into careers that result in economic mobility.

The $1.5 million dollars will support the upgrade of SFC’s Nursing Simulation Lab and the expansion of training opportunities for students as well as other community healthcare providers and hospitals. Aligned with the goals of the Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education (FIPSE), the simulation lab improves the quality of SFC’s

nursing education program and prepares future nurses to offer exceptional, compassionate care across NYC. The DHC federal lobbying team assisted SFC with the project proposal, application submission, advocacy, and discussed the importance of the project with Congressional leadership. Over the last five years, DHC’s federal lobbying team has partnered with SFC to secure $15 million dollars in federal funding.
