Wright in Times Article on Yusef Salaam’s City Council Victory

January 2, 2024 – Keith L.T. Wright, Director of Strategic Planning was included in a New York Times feature story about the recent swearing in of Yusef Salaam, the newest member of the New York City Council for Harlem, both Mr. Salaam’s and Wright’s hometown.

The article is a poignant ‘better not bitter’ story of an incredible new public servant who was one of the Exonerated Five who has come home with plans to make a positive difference for his neighborhood and city.

Keith was pivotal in first approaching Mr. Salaam and asking him to consider running for the City Council and to represent their hometown district of Harlem.  Adding to the sweetness of the story, Keith’s son Jordan served as Mr. Salaam’s Campaign Manager during the race, completing a family affair political fairy tale and legacy for the politically-minded Wright family.

Keith’s father is the late, Hon. Bruce M. Wright, who began his career in 1967 as as general counsel for the New York City Human Resources Administration during NYC Mayor John Lindsay’s administration, and who later became a New York State Supreme Court Judge who served the people of New York in that role from 1982-1994.
