CLIENT SPOTLIGHT: Helen Keller & ES&S – Voting Hope for Disabled

DHC's Client Helen Keller & ES&S – Voting Hope for Disabled

November 15, 2022 – Steve Malito, State Government Relations Practice Chair and Partner and Nicole L. Weingartner, Director of State Government Affairs recently brought two clients together for a mutually beneficial outcome.

Working closely with Helen Keller Services for the Blind (HKSB) and Election Systems & Software (ES&S), the DHC team facilitated a demonstration at HKSB’s Brooklyn offices to introduce ES&S’s ExpressVote XL, a voting technology solution that offers an audio-tactile keypad with Braille legends, two-position rocker switch and more, making voting more accessible for people who do not have use of their sight or hearing and require adaptive technology.

ES&S technology is currently being evaluated by the New York Board of Elections, but is already in use in major cities, counties and communities across the US.  DHC is hopeful that ES&S voting systems will be approved for use in New York in 2023.
