Davidoff Interviewed in Critically Acclaimed Documentary

June 1, 2023 – From 1966-1973, firm Founder, Sid Davidoff (Chair of the Government Relations practice) was an influential young aide to Mayor John Lindsay serving as the mayor’s eyes and ears of life on the streets of the city.

In the early 1970s, heroin was flowing through the streets of Manhattan and its boroughs, with minority neighborhoods hit the hardest, Sid witnessed how the increase in heroin addiction correlated with the rise in violent street crime.

In 2020, filmmaker, Mia Donovan released her documentary, “Dope is Death”, to critical acclaim, which chronicled the Lincoln Detox People’s Program (LDPP), a partnership between the Black Panthers and the Young Lords, who combined community health with politics to create the first acupuncture detoxification program in America.

Sid was interviewed for his firsthand knowledge and to provide the film’s audience with political, contextual and historical perspectives.
