Wright’s Son Jordan Wins Primary Nomination

June 26, 2024 – Primary voting on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, resulted in a significant victory for Jordan J.G. Wright, son of DHC Director of Strategic Planning, Keith Wright.

Jordan won a four-way contest to succeed the retiring Inez Dickens for the 70th Assembly District seat; which encompasses much of Central Harlem. Jordan was also Dickens’ chosen successor.

He also had the support of City Council Member Yusef Salaam, whose district overlaps with the 70th Assembly District, and who Jordan served as campaign manager for in his successful City Council bid last year.

Of course, Jordan had the support, encouragement, and insights of his dad, who also serves as the current Manhattan Democratic Committee Leader and who is himself, a two-decade plus veteran of the NYS Assembly.

Securing his primary victory with 48% of the vote, Jordan comfortably defeated former City Council candidate Maria Ordonez, who received 29%.

Congratulations, Jordan and Keith!!
