April 22, 2026 – In Celebration of Earth Day, The Doe Fund joined NYC Deputy Mayor for Operations, Julia Kerson and Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Commissioner, Lisa Garcia to announce a new partnership. As part of this initiative, Doe will provide workforce training to individuals looking to pursue job opportunities with DEP, to maintain neighborhood rain gardens across the city. In so doing, this partnership will maintain a critical career pipeline that will strengthen New York’s climate resiliency while creating meaningful employment opportunities. During the event, the partners also cleaned rain gardens and added new plants.
