Coletti Moderates Panel at the 2024 Transportation Summit

October 10, 2024 – Louis J. Coletti, Senior Adviser in the Construction Law and Government Relations practices moderated a vibrant panel discussion at City & State Magazine’s “Transportation in New York Summit: Developing & Innovating Transportation Systems in New York”.

The summit took place at the Museum of Jewish Heritage in downtown Manhattan and brought together hundreds of professionals from a wide variety of transportation industries and elected officials from various governmental transportation agencies.

The panels discussed recent legislative actions, and took a futuristic look at the future of all things coming and going in New York!

Alongside four information-packed panels, the event will feature keynote remarks by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Executive Director Rick Cotton and Metropolitan Transportation Authority CEO Janno Lieber.

Lou’s panel delved into how an effective transportation system is key to New York’s economic viability and quality of life. Lou guided the panel to answer questions like:

  1. How the projects underway (or in the works) utilize new technology, materials, safety methods, and tools?
  2. What are the best ways to help promote and support innovative ways of planning, designing, building, and maintaining New York’s transportation infrastructure to move the city forward?
  3. What the role of policing by way of new technology like the gun-detecting scanners, as well as what’s on the horizon in terms of modernizing technology that connects us, and helps future generations?
