CLIENT SPOTLIGHT: Touro's Healthy Aging Day Benefits Community

April 2, 2025 (Rochdale, Queens) – DHC was thrilled to help facilitate a partnership between the office of New York City Council Speaker, Adrienne Adams and our client, Touro University for the 3rd annual Healthy Aging Educational Day for Seniors at Rochdale Village. The collaboration also included some other DHC clients, namely SCO Family of Services (SCO), who provided volunteers; and Hunts Point Produce Market, who supplied bags of produce to giveaway to nearly 300 seniors. Globe Storage & Moving Co Inc donated a truck and driver to transport the items to Rochdale Village.
Attendees benefitted from blood pressure, cognitive language and peripheral arterial disease screenings. In addition, there were several presentations throughout the day on topics such as “Heart Health is Whole Health”; “What Happens to your Feet as they Age”; and “Maintaining Communication Skills as we Age.”
Remarks were delivered by Speaker Adams’ District Chief of Staff, Ty Hankerson, together with District Director, Lynette Shelborne-Barfield ; and Touro University’s Provost Patricia Salkin, alongside Associate Provost Rima Aranha and Conference Manager, Jennie Goldress. Also, in attendance was DHC’s Associate Director of Government Relations, Melissa Chapman-Samad.
