CLIENT SPOTLIGHT: Touro's Healthy Aging Day A Success
May 30, 2024 (Rochdale, Queens) – DHC was thrilled to help facilitate a partnership between the office of New York City Council Speaker, Adrienne Adams and our client, Touro University for the 2nd annual Healthy Aging Educational Day for Seniors at Rochdale Village.
The collaboration also included three additional DHC Government Relations clients, namely Center for Educational Innovation (CEI) and SCO Family of Services (SCO), who provided volunteers; and Hunts Point Produce Market, who supplied bags of produce to giveaway to the seniors.
Attendees benefitted from blood pressure screenings, and several presentations throughout the day, such as “Healthy Aging and Blood Thinners”; “Holistic Well-Being and Healthy Aging”; and “Fall Prevention for Older Adults.”
The program featured remarks from Speaker Adams’ District Chief of Staff, Ty Hankerson; and Director of Strategic Partnerships, Lynette Shelborne-Barfield. Representing Touro University were Provost Patricia Salkin; Dr. Steven Lorenzet; Rima Aranha and Jennie Goldress. Also, in attendance was DHC’s Associate Director of Government Relations, Melissa Chapman-Samad.
