CLIENT SPOTLIGHT: HPPM Joins MTA Groundbreaking Ceremonies
December 9, 2022 – Arthur Goldstein, Partner and Chair of the NYC Government Relations group joins client, Hunts Point Produce Market (HPPM) for the groundbreaking ceremonies of four new Metro-North train stations to better serve the citizens of the Bronx and the borough’s food infrastructure.
The ceremonies were attended by NYS Governor Kathy Hochul, US Senator Chuck Schumer, US Rep. Ritchie Torres, NYS Senator Luis Sepulveda, Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson, NYC Council Member Rafael Salamanca Jr., NYC Council Member Amanda Farías and NYC Council Member Marjorie Velázquez, Westchester County Executive George Latimer, Hunts Point Produce Market CEO Phillip Grant, numerous community leaders as well as MTA-Metro-North Railroad President Catherine Rinaldi and MTA Chair and CEO Janno Lieber.
These rail improvements represent the largest expansion of Metro-North Railroad bringing much needed train service within one mile of 500,000 residents, dramatically cutting travel times, while providing Metro-North Service to Penn Station via the New Haven Line, connecting Manhattan, East Bronx, Westchester and Connecticut. In fact, the new rail service will save residents 50 minutes in daily commuting to Manhattan and open up reverse commute opportunities.
DHC is excited to see the positive impact these four new stations will have in our community for Bronx residents and our client.
