Chapman-Samad Recognized as a 2026 Black Trailblazer

February 2, 2026 – Melissa Chapman-Samad, Associate Director of Government Relations was recognized by City & State Magazine in their 2026 Black Trailblazers list.

City & State acknowledges the significant influence of Black leaders throughout New York’s political, policy, and business sectors. The state has elected Black officials to the highest offices, including governor, attorney general, comptroller, and multiple lieutenant governors. Currently, both chambers of the state Legislature are led by Black lawmakers. At the municipal level, New York City has been served by two Black mayors, two public advocates, a comptroller, and a council speaker, in addition to numerous Black officials who have held positions such as district attorney, borough president, and county leader.
