Capetanakis Named to Brooklyn Power 100 by City & State 2024
July 2, 2024 – Charles Capetanakis, Partner in the Real Estate Law, Trusts & Estates Law, Government Relations, Commercial Litigation and Economic Development & Tax Incentives law practice groups, was selected by City & State Magazine as one of the Brooklyn Power 100.
A lifelong Brooklynite, Charles has been involved in many areas of the Borough’s legal, political, and business scene.
Now with the storied Law and Government Relations firm Davidoff Hutcher and Citron, LLP, Charles was an integral part in many of Brooklyn’s land use projects including the Coney Island Amphitheatre, and is very active in Brooklyn’s legal arena, especially in Federal, State and Surrogate’s Court.
As a lobbyist, in addition to numerous land use projects, Charles has been instrumental in securing funding for notable clients such as St. Francis College and the Hope Program.
Civically, he has been very active over the years, serving on District 20’s School Board (6 years as President) and then as the Lead Applicant and the current Board Chair of the Hellenic Classical Charter School, a pre-K to 8 National Blue Ribbon School that teaches Greek and Latin and has the classics woven throughout its curriculum. He is a past State Senate Candidate, was appointed by Mayor Bloomberg to the NYC Redistricting Commission and was appointed by Governor Pataki to the NYS Project Finance Agency, the NYS Municipal Bond Bank Agency and the NYS Tobacco Finance Settlement Agency.
Charles is also the Vice-Chair of the Brooklyn Board of Scouting and am the proud Father of 4 Eagle Scouts.
