Michael W. Appelbaum is Of Counsel in the Employment Law practice for the New York City law firm of Davidoff Hutcher & Citron LLP.
He began his career as a labor lawyer representing employers in various industries in their collective bargaining negotiations with labor unions. As a labor lawyer he also handled arbitrations and mediation proceedings and tried numerous cases and appeals at the National Labor Relations Board.
Mr. Appelbaum began handling matrimonial matters even before 1980, when the Equitable Distribution Law came into effect. He also represents clients in real estate and commercial transactions and trusts and estate matters.
He has tried numerous cases and has successfully argued in the New York Court of Appeals and in the Appellate Divisions of the First and Second Departments. Mr. Appelbaum currently serves on the Board of Directors of the New York Women’s Bar Association. He has the distinction of being the first man ever to serve on that Board.
