October 29, 2026 (New York, NY) — DHC’s own Ashwani Prabhakar was prominently featured on a Continuing Legal Education panel held today at Surrogate’s Court, New York County. Hon. Hilary Gingold, Surrogate, selected him to participate.

Titled “The Last Heirs: Jewish Kinship and Holocaust Survivor Estates,” the program was presented by the Jewish Lawyers Guild, the New Rochelle Bar Association, and the Network of Bar Leaders. It took the form of a mock kinship trial, examining what happens when a Holocaust survivor dies and his closest living relative is a first cousin. Ashwani played Counsel to the Public Administrator.

Surrogate Gingold moderated, together with Sydney Spinner of Kestenbaum & Spinner, PLLC. Hon. Adam Silvera, Deputy Chief Administrative Judge for the New York City Courts, attended as a special guest. About 75 practitioners were in attendance, including DHC attorneys Charles Capetanakis and Deidre M. Baker.

Ashwani’s selection reflects the respect he has earned among members of the Surrogate’s Court bench and bar.
