February 28, 2023 – Seasoned Davidoff Hutcher & Citron’s Trusts & Estates attorney, Ashwani Prabhakar was interviewed in the Newsweek article “Man Leaving Entire Inheritance to Second Wife and Not His 5 Kids Slammed” to discuss the proper procedure of establishing inheritance when drawing up a will.

Prabhakar noted that there is no singular practice for drawing up a will, and as such people should be as precise as possible to avoid conflict over the distribution of assets, even when the assets are bequeathed equally. Leaving such sensitive matters up to living family members also creates unnecessary issues over the monetary value of inherited items, and explicitly stating your wishes can prevent family divides according to Prabhakar.
