September 6, 2022 – Larry Hutcher, name Partner and Chair of Commercial Litigation, was featured in over 300 national news media outlets for a recently filed lawsuit representing Billy Hunter, former NBA Players Association Executive Director, who owns the motion picture rights to the book Black Ice: The Lost History of the Colored Hockey League of the Maritimes, 1895-1925.

The $10M intellectual property lawsuit names Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James, hip hop artists Drake and Future, along with others who produced a hockey documentary “Black Ice”, based on the book, without securing the rights from Hunter.
