February 18, 2021 — Governor Cuomo announced that New York’s outdoor amusement and water parks will be open for the 2021 season. The New England Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (NEAAPA), a trade association representing amusement parks, water parks, and attractions throughout the United States, “was able to develop a reopening plan with the help of Governor Andrew Cuomo’s office, its New York members, and the government relations and legal firm Davidoff Hutcher & Citron LLP,” according to an announcement by the Association.
The NEAAPA worked closely with DHC’s government relations team to provide a solution for amusement parks in the New York area, some of which have been closed since the Covid-19 pandemic began, to open safely. Thanks to DHC’s efforts, a successful plan has been identified to restart these businesses in 2021.
News of the reopening plan was recently reported in AM New York, the New York Daily News, and the New York Post.
