CLIENT FOCUS: Hochul Announces $90.5M Funding

June 6, 2023 – DHC client, Storm King Art Center — a 500-acre outdoor museum located in New York’s Hudson Valley celebrated their Groundbreaking ceremony with NYS Governor Kathy Hochul.

While there, the Governor announced a $90.5M investment in funding for large-scale capital projects at 19 arts and cultural organizations across New York State through the New York State Council of the Arts (NYSCA) Capital Projects Fund.

Of this amount, Storm King received a $7.5M grant, which will go towards new amenities to help create an unparalleled visitor experience, increase artists collaborations, and preserve the site and collections for the next generation.

Guests included Assemblymember Chris Eachus; Empire State Development (ESD) President, CEO and Commissioner Hope Knight; and Executive Director, Ross Levi; NYSCA’s Executive Director, Mara Manus; and SUNY Orange President, Dr. Kristine Young.

Also in attendance were DHC’s Partners, Charles Capetanakis and Sean Crowley; Director, Strategic Planning, Keith Wright; and Associate Director, Government Relations, Melissa Chapman.

Since 1960 Storm King has offered visitors the opportunity to experience large-scale sculpture and site-specific commissions under open sky. DHC helps Storm King to pursue funding at the state and federal levels of government; to increase engagement with this group of stakeholders.
