Hutcher on MSG’s Controversial Use of Facial Recognition Tech

February 1, 2023 – Larry K. Hutcher, Co-Managing Partner and Chair of the Commercial Litigation law practice was featured in Scripps News “Morning Rush” for their coverage of MSG Entertainment’s controversial use of facial recognition technology to bar attorney’s entrance to Knicks and Rangers games.

The practice of banning entrance to a major national sports or entertainment arena is typically instituted to protect against criminal or terrorist threats, but in this case the Garden bans any attorney working at a firm who brings a lawsuit against MSG Entertainment on behalf of a client.

The story has taken on epic proportions as the questions of individual privacy, discrimination, technocracy and more have entered the national discourse.
