DHC Hosts D.C. Meetings with New York Building Congress, NY CEOs and Government Leaders
Transportation and Infrastructure Topped the Agenda with House, Senate and Administration Officials
DHC’s Washington D.C. office hosted their client, the New York Building Congress, and a select member delegation of 19 CEO’s of the largest New York construction, architecture, transportation and engineering firms, for a two-day fly-in on June 6th and 7th in D.C.
DHC organized meetings with leaders in the House, Senate, and Administration to emphasize the need for robust transportation and infrastructure funding out of Washington in order to boost the country’s economic productivity.
The attendee list included: Richard Cavallaro, President of Skanska USA; Carlo A. Scissura, Esq., President and CEO of New York Building Congress; Michael Carroll, Chief Executive Officer and President of CHA Companies; Kenneth Daly, President of National Grid New York; Ralph J. Esposito, President of Lend Lease (US) Construction LMB, Inc.; William Gilbane, III, Senior Vice President of Gilbane Building Company; Gregory A. Kelly, CEO of WSP USA; Eli Khoury, Senior Vice President of HDR; Henry Kuykendall, Vice President- New York of Delta Air Lines; Christopher Larsen, Principal of Halmar International LLC; George Leventis, Principal of Langan International LLC; Jill Lerner, Principal of Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates, P.C.; Cheryl McKissack, President and CEO of McKissack & McKissack; Thomas Prendergast, Executive Vice President and Chief Strategic Officer of STV Group, Inc.; Thomas Z. In addition, DHC arranged meetings with the top transportation and infrastructure policy leadership in Congress and in the Administration. Bi-partisan meetings were held with Senators John Thune (R-SD), James Inhofe (R-OK), Cory Booker (D-NJ), and John Barrasso (R-WY) all of whom are Chairmen or Ranking Members of the major Committees and Subcommittees responsible for legislation in these areas. The delegation also met for roundtable discussions with New York Senators Schumer and Gillibrand and Senior Advisors on Infrastructure at the U.S Department of Transportation.
On the House side, the delegation met with Congressman Sam Graves, Chairman of the Subcommittee on Highways and Transit, and hosted an evening reception featuring a discussion with New York Congressmen Joe Crowley, Dan Donovan and Peter King. At a private luncheon the following day, the group met with the majority of members of the New York Congressional Delegation from downstate, including Representatives Carolyn Maloney, Jerry Nadler, Greg Meeks and Tom Suozzi.
